Putting automatic transmission fluid in crank case

Anyone ever put automatic transmission fluid in the crank case oil to clean the gunk and grim out of the engine and freeing up any stuck/sticking rings? Runninig it at idle for 30 to 45 minutes and then changing the oil and filter? Even soaking the top of the pistons by squirting a bunch in the plug holes prior (soak for one week or more) to adding it to the crank case oil? Does it work? Any stories of success or failures? Thanks for any input.
