I grew up working on three different farms, running all kinds of tractors. These were all modern farms running modern for the day tractors in upstate NY. But every tractor I ever ran was a wide front end. Recently, my barn for wayward tractors just took in a Farmall BN. with a narrow front end with two wheels. I for the life of me can't think of where this is an advantage over a WFE, other than that the fact that adjusting tread width on the front end isn't an issue. I suppose ground compaction would be less, and if you were rolling around a curve with tilling equipment, you would not have an issue with the rear wheels tracking behind the back ones........what else is there? I have a Ford 2N, and I have read that there was demand for a row crop tractor from ford. Does that mean just a narrow front end, or does the high clearance fit in there somewhere? Take Care Steve
