Does it try to fire, but kicks back? That is the problem I had on a B. Never worked with an ES mag, but had such a problem with a Wico -- the impulse was at TDC, but when running, the spark was way too advance. Here's what I did -- put masking tape on the flywheel and, starting at the LH Impulse mark, place degree marks at five degree intervals (5 degrees circumferential equals Diameter x pi/72). Using a battery charger to power a timing light with an inductive pickup, check the timing when running. As I recall the timing should be around 30-35 degrees. (Mine was something like 65 degrees. No wonder it kicked back.)
