How long had it set since you used it last??? The idea Hay had that the clutch plate is rusted to the fly wheel sounds like a very good guess to me!! How long did you run it low on oil?? Was it used hard?? The longer you ran it, and the harder it was used durning that time, the more damage you will have. SO, it could be near none, to major! Take your pick! I'd change the fluid and filters, and cut the filter open to look for metal particles! This will give you some idea. BTW, where did the fluid go in the first place?? Do you have a leak??
