I can help you with checking the pressure of your hydraulic system. From what you are saying, I think it is the relief valve. Hopefully it only needs adjusted. I have a picture of the gauge set up that I use to check pressure on a hydraulic system. If you will email me, I will send you instructions on hooking up the gauge and how to adjust the pressure relief valve. My email is ronj@pld.com
