Appreciate the response and help. I'll 'chew' on this for a while. Tried to disassemble the spool valve last nite without success. Spool doesn't want to go to third position (exhaust) for some reason ,as it should. May have to replace it.
Already have a small fortune in this restoration, so if it takes a new valve and plumb the exhaust cylinder hose to it, that's what I'll do.
