The reason for the longer trailer is so you can move the tractor forword or back to add or subtract weight on the truck more or less to equalize the load too much weight forword tends to take the weight off the steering axel not a good thing,as for the truck I would rather be over powered than under powered at least I'd be in control those small pick ups s10, dakota ect.are sports vehicles not realy meant for heavey towing just my thoughts .......Jer
