A Ford 660 or 860 would be comparable to the MF. The old Ford N series were niffty deals when they came out, but they are lacking in many features. They have 3-point, but the hydraulics are not live so you can't have the clutch pushed in to move the arms, and the pto & hyd are kinda linked together making it a challenge to operate. In there day, they had all these new features in a small neat package. But, each feature got a lot of improvements over the years... --->Paul

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
