How Espressions Got Started

I teach Junior Hi. English in a public school in a rural farming community. The discussion of the orign of words, phrases, and expression. We have all heard the expression,"Get the H out." Well one eighth grade boy said that his daddy was a collector of old tractors and their garage was almost too full of old tractors for the family sedan.They had purchased a John Deere H put it in the garage and there was no place for the car so his mother threw a fit and told the father to get the "H" out.
