I had a '61 Chevy Impala, with a lotta horsepower, and it also had a two piece drive shaft. I got pretty good at replacing that rubber-encased bearing, as it was real easy to break. Take off the center U-Joint, so that you can get to the bolt that holds the yoke onto the rear of the front shaft section. Remove the yoke. Then remove the bearing. It is pressed on. I never had a press back then (still don't actually, but my neighbor has one now). I used the back end of a hatchet to tap the bearing off. Worked every time for me, but maybe mine wasn't on too tight. I tapped the new one on with a block of wood and the same hatchet. no guarantees that this will work for you, but if the bearing is bad, you can't really hurt it any further by trying something crude. If that doesn't work, I would think a machine shop would press it off for ten bucks or so. Good Luck!
