Even though Oliver tried to do the right things on their equipment, we're now left without anything but the hard-used, good working tractors they gave us. We were fortunate to get the first 'big' modern row crop, an 1800A(checkerboard), in 1960. With 18.4x34 tires(loaded), a great field pulling tractor. There was nothing to compare, kind of where things are today. Once Allied sold White to AGCO, any trace of Oliver-White was passing. Now, all these badges are AGCO's, but connect with nothing they manufacture. Seeing ShepVA's site, re-powered 1655, photos, was a smile-bringer.More power to him, AGCO should give him assemblyline privileges for his devoted efforts.
