Totally agree. I don't see any need for judging, prizes or an entry fee. If you can get away with it, I'd even try to avoid an entrance fee for visitors, too. New shows normally aren't money-makers. My dad and I have made a habit of attending newer, smaller shows over the past ten years, instead of just our old favorites, and we really enjoy it. It feels good to help a new show get off the ground. Working exhibits are always more interesting than static exhibits, and parades are nice. You don't need too many activities, though, because half the fun of a tractor show is standing around shooting the breeze. Good luck with your show.

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
