We have a 1967 IH 656 with WAY OVER 15,000 hrs and thats on a GAS! The engine was overhauled once by an idiot and was immediately tore down again (less then 500 hrs) at about 7000-7500 hours. The TA and clutch where replaced at about 10,000 hours. It pulled a 56 6 row planter and did all the cultivating until 1981 and also did nearly all the baling in that time frame also. Now its main duty is pulling a swather and small square baler. The hydraulics have whined since day one and still work fine.
