Hi, Rob. I'm a bit late coming in on this but Euclid - now Terex - used GM diesels in pretty much all of their scrapers and 'dozers way back before they were called Detroits. Another manufacturer who used them extensively was the Austin group, Austin Western, etc. who put them into graders and cranes amongst other things. I think Clark and Michigan were also using them for various applications. LeTourneau, and later Wabco, also used them in a lot of different machines. Allis Chalmers used them in many of their earlier machines and I don't know when they stopped using them and switched to Buda diesels or what the biggest machines were that they used GM's in. All of the above were before these engines started being called Detroit Diesels but some continued after the name change. Various GM motors were also quite popular for marine applications and a LOT of the bigger ones were used in railway loco's. The most powerful 'dozer built to date, at least that I know of, was the Western 2000 which had a 1,650 hp GM which was actually a marine version of the 16-278 engine. Hope this helps. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
