Trevor is 100% correct - adding to this, your MH calls for a #30 SE (API) recommendation which was the standard from 1972 until 1980. I realize your MH is older than that, but that is the current recommendation. From 72 until 80 is detergent, without doubt. The new oils meet this spec. Having said this, I would also not be afraid in a dirty engine (previously using non-detergent) of using detergent, I would just perhaps double or triple the normal oil change interval for a few changes. The key to good oil - buy quality. Stick with the people that have actual oil refineries. Many tractor companies bid their oil from year to year and have different oil (yet meeting their spec.) each year. Jay
