I wonder how many of these responses to this post farm for a living or have to supplement their farming with a day or nite job "in town"? There is a diffence between doing this as a hobby or tax deduction and making a living solely on farming. Some of you refer to "factory farms" in your posts....I guess it depends on what part of the country your from. Makes little diffence now that federal price supports are no longer in place as a safety net for farmers...they are all in trouble. Farmers need a sharp turn around in commodity prices soon. We have just had to many bad years back to back to hang on with prices where they are now. Take your money to Vegas, the odds are better!
