Hello every one: I have been attempting to identify 2 farmall C tractors that I now own as to what year they actually are. In the serial number lookup it states that the serial number is located on the left side of the trans or diff housing. My dilema is that both tractors serial numbers have their plate on the right side of the tool box (seat support) one number is 76711 and the other nuber is 74367. These numbers seem to indicate that the tractors were made in 1951 or so. The 76711 tractor was boughten new by my grandfather and when I was a kid I remember seeing a manual for a 1948 farmall C in our old basement...and have always believed that it was a 1948 tractor but now I am confused as some of the information indicates otherwise. I can't go back and find the book nor can I ask my father or granfather as they have passed away. Can anyone help me figure it all out? the only thing I am most cetain of is that they are C's and not super C's .If any one can help...I would really appreciate it thanx Geo.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
