I'm guessing if you have 8 acres, you'll find more to do with a tractor than just move snow. The question is, just what else will you need it to do? That's what you need to zero in on. Once you have that figured out, you'll know what features you'll need on a tractor. Will you be mowing those 8 acres? Growing hay? Grazing horses? Those are the things you (and we) need to know before good advice can be given. If all you need to do is move snow, then the pickup with a plow is probably the right answer. If you need a FEL for other tasks as well, then you will be happier with a tractor that has power steering, although it's not impossible to do loader work without it (as thousands of Ford 8N owners with large arms can attest). Will you be running a baler or bushhog? Might want to look for something with live pto. Many different tractors are out there because there are many different jobs that can be done with them. What are yours?
