Aloha, It looks like a short in the wires or lamp fixture to the rear. I would remove the bulbs and also the fuse. Get a VOM meter and test from the fuse holder (the side that goes back to the rear lights) and check for the short or ground. Sometimes it is the fixture itself that is bad. As for not getting any spark, was it running before you removed the harness? If yes, then I would check if there is voltage to the input of your coil (assuming this is a gas engine)with the key on and trace back from there. If there is voltage at the coil with the key on and also if there is voltage in the starting position (starter turning)then I would suspect the coil or distributor. Since you have the wiring schematic it shouldn't be too hard to find the problem. Just take a step at a time and post back if you need more help or what the problem was. Mahalo, Howard
