I'm pretty sure antifreeze weighs more than water--a little over 9 lbs per gallon as opposed to 8.3 or so for water. Methanol probably weighs less. And yes Calcium Cloride is heavy but the down side of corrosiveness is a trade off. I'd like to see a table on the web listing weights of various fluids but haven't found a good one yet. I'd also like to know what percentages of methanol to water result in what freeze level. Anyone know of any helpful sites?
