Last night we got about 1/2 inch, and outside of a couple of sprinkles it's the first rain we've had around here (just west of Kansas City) since June 25th. Combined with the 100 plus temperatures for the last three weeks things are kinda dusty and ugly. Did have a fair wheat crop as we got rain earlier this year, but the corn and soybeans are really in tough shape. A lot of the corn around here has been cut for sileage and I'm not sure the soybeans will recover even if we do get good rain from here on out. Trees are dropping their leaves, everything is brown. Our pond is down about 6 feet, with just a small pool of water left in the bottom. Last couple of years have been almost as bad. I'm praying it will soon turn around and we'll have a couple of good years around here. Would appreciate your prayers as well.
