Hank get you a copy of Hemming motor news, their are all kinds of restoration suppliers listed in their,I restored a 70 L.P.STD and I sent the manifold and exhaust and had it teated with a special coating and it stays nice and black $190.00 worth. The head you are talking about,I know of no way to skin this rascal other than stick a can of touch up paint in the tool box,you could have porclain put on it then the paint wouldn't match, and it chips. You know John Deere don't paint the top of the gas tanks on these old tractors,if they did I would be saving some money right now. My G had a hole in the top of tank.
