Insurance rates are different in every state from the different companies. FB is kinda high where I live. Even when my friend (director) asked me to join, he said he doesn't have their insurance, it's too high 'here'. No doubt it is more competitive in other areas. FB is pretty political. A lot of folks say just join them, they support farm agendas. It's the only worthwhile game in town, or farmers will have no support at all. On the other hand, as some have pointed out below, FB has a certain ag agenda, which really seems to favor big ag. Small farmers kinda get shafted by FB policies. They get a lot of support from Monsanto, and large pork opertions. It makes it hard to believe they care about some small individual farmer, or that he/she can make any difference in the orginization. Those days seem to have ended a few decades ago. So, good or bad? I donno. I was a member for a year or two, haven't paid dues now but still get newsletter.... Not sure I agree with their direction, didn't see any benifits to me. But don't toally dislike them. --->Paul

Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
