You can probably move a bale or two with that small of a tractor. I just wouldn't do it on a regular basis. I would consider a bale caddie. (Trailor). If you are like most of us, you would rather use your tractor, than work on it. Big bales are a load. The wieght of the bale is not all the "stress" you'll be putting the tractor through. Moving it across rough ground will subject the lift and other parts to loads that the 8N was just not intended to handle. It might pick it up, but moving it is another story. If you are going to move a bale every few weeks, you might gert away with it. Move them every day, and it's likely that you'll break something before long. My brother-in-law bales several hundred acres, and sells the hay. I have watched him trash several smaller tractors over the years. About 5 years ago, he bought a 4440 Deere, and hasn't had a problem since. The point is, you need something big enough to handle the wieght, EASILY. (And safely)

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
