I had my identity stollen this past year. Let me tell you , its no fun. They got my social, drivers license # and home address. They would go around town appling for in-store credit cards and max them out. When I started recieving the bills we reacted VERY fast and called the 3 main credit companies. I got lucky in that they charged around $10,000 in my name but the companies determined that I was not liable. They even opened an acount @ Home Depot which I already had an account, but HD opened another?? Anyway my credit is on hold and when ever I make big purchases they must call my home # to verifie its me. Police are no help in this matter and wont even bother investigating. I found one place had them on tape making purchases but they couldnt show me. If I were ever able to find who did this I would straight up kill them.
