We had a 1965 5000, gear drive. I think, you can unbolt the for bolts on the out side and slide the old out and the new in. The NH dealer outta help you that much. Drain the oil first. You might try posting on the ford board and put a "Bern-Help" in the tag line, he is a Ford mechanic.
