You say it will jump start! O.K. Are you jumping at the battery post? If so every thing else should be ok. Do you still have the two 6 volt batterys in it. If so Take them out and install a known good 12 volt. see if it will start. If so one of your batterys is bad. If it will not start or you are jumping at starter check connections on both ends of battery cable. Does one of the cables get hot when you try to start. If so this is a sign of bad connection or broken wire.
Last thing is the starter. Your starter may be getting weak and needs the little extra push of a jump start to turn over. But this a last resort as I think you have a bad battery or a bad battery cable and or connection
