Jack, It may not be your fuel pump. First you should remove your primary pump from the main fuel pump and take it apart, clean all of the componants. look at the plastic poppit valves that are installed under the two plugs on the bottom of the primary pump. If they are chipped or distorted in any way replace them. Another area to look at is the fuel bypass valve located on the engine side of the fuel pump. It is contained in the lower pipe that your fuel lines attach to. You will need to unscrew it from the pump and clean it. Then reinstall all of the componants and try the tractor. The only other possibility would be a leak that is allowing air to enter the system. If you try all this and still have the problem then suspect your fuel pump. Hope this helps.
