Linda You may need to tear into the carb and clean it. However to get going in the mean time. I always turn off my gas at the valve under the tank on my Ford NAA jubilee when I park it. It is a good habit to get into. When I turn the gas on. Sometimes it will start leaking like yours is doing. When it does I very lightly tap the side of the carburator with a hammerto see if I can get the float unstuck. Sometimes it will work. Becareful if you have some raw fuel in the area.
