Will, Find the terminal on the generator marked "F". It should be stamped into the metal housing, if not, then find the "F" terminal on the regulator and follow the wire to the terminal on the generator. Using an insulated screwdriver or a jumper wire, ground the "F" terminal to the generator case. You should show full charge on your dash mounted ampmeter. If it doesn't show a full charge, the generator is faulty (could be something as simple as dirty brushes and/or comutator). If it shows full charge, then the regulator is bad. This all assumes (Hate that word) that all of the wiring and the ampmeter are good and in working order. Do not, I repeat, do not leave a jumper on your generator to make it work. In short order you will see shiny stuff (solder) being splattered all over inside the generator.
