80+ hp should pull the planter any time it's really fit to plant - less hp can do it depending on your soil/ conditions. But a tough spring would make that scary. (This year I planted all my corn with a 4 row, used 27hp tractor - but we had great conditions, and I had bigger hp if I needed....) The disk you might pull with 80 hp in good light tillage conditions, might want 140hp in more difficult, heavier conditions. Hard to pin that one down exactly without knowing how it's used & soil type. Duals can be nice too - depending on conditions. Disking fall soybean ground is way different than in spring on plowed ground. 'Here' most people would use a 140 hp tractor with duals for both..... --->Paul
