I was poking around the back of my Dad's machine shed and saw an old JD Power Unit and thought I ought to ask all you fine folks if you could tell me something about it. The tag on the side of the frame says: John Deere Power Unit LUC - C 17768 It is a little 2 cylinder unit (cylinders are verticle) with a Wico magneto. And it has a drive pulley (looks to be a variable pulley, with a hand clutch). And... it has a hand crank. On the engine block is a casting: 12/22/A *What were these engines used for and what is one worth? (I know the price would be subjective to condition... which is fair!) I can't get to the crank to see if it will turn over. It has set in the back of the shed for about 30+ years. Dad bought 2 of these engines many, many years ago. He used one engine to make a little homemade tractor (which is long gone now). Thanks for any answers! Chris ~southeast~Illinois
