If someone from overseas is offering to buy a piece of large equipment sight unseen, you can be pretty well assured that they have no intention of taking delivery of it. In the case of your Allis, the shipping costs alone could be more than the tractor would be worth in the UK. Usually these are variants of the "Nigerian Scam". If you google on "Nigerian Scam", you'll get more info than you want. Basically, the scam is this: The buyer wants to pay with a "certified check" for more than the selling price of the item. You're supposed to refund the difference. In fact, the check will be worthless, you'll be out any money you sent them, and the buyer will never take delivery. Believe it or not, thousands of people have fallen for these scams, which is why it's still going on.
