The auctions I go to in Northern Ca. have the tractors started up at the begining of the inspection period and run till the auction starts, usually an hour or so. If a tractor's not running, something is wrong. It's up to you to figure it out. There will always be some people standing around discussing it, so keep your ears open. One may even have personal knowledge. Sometimes the staff will tell if asked.
