Two problems, I have a 7119 hydro, and have the same staring problem.
Starting, first check battery terminals, second check the cables and wiring to and from starter, keyed switch, etc. Third, check/or have the starter checked. I have been putting off tearing the starter out of mine because its at the bottom of the motor, real pain to get to, and because I have a Scag 48" walk behind that cuts faster and I get more exercise.
Second, I would bet the stalling problem is electrical related, I don't know the setup on that particlur tractor is but if it runs until it gets HOT, and stalls, I'd say coil, magneto, etc.
