The post regarding the mobius strip does not apply because the belt would need to have the 1/2 twist built into the belt itself. Most of the long belt situations, primarily threshers would usually be powered from the front.I dont recall ever seeing one powered from the blower end The primary reason was to keep the belt on the pulleys. Anyone who has ever tried to get a tractor exactly in the proper location with the proper tension at 50' knows that getting the two pulleys exactly parallel is very difficult. The twist tends to help the belt center itself if it begins to walk off the pulley.
