Steve, Your H is a 1948 model. If the suffex on your serial number is X1 it means gasoline. If it is X1L it means gasoline, seven mph 4th speed gear, low-speed 1st gear, 5000 ft altitude. It is probably X1 as the X1L would be very rare. There was no XL suffix. Just for your information, the Farmall H was tested in Nebraska test # 333 with 26.20 belt hp and 24.17 db hp, and 3603 max lbs pull at 2.06 mph. The engine is rated at 1650 rpm with a maximum no load rpm of 1850. The pto is 540 rpm at 1650 engine rpm. Shipping weight was 3460 lbs equipped with the standard 5.50-16 front and 10-38 rear tires.
