Need ideas. I've got a 3400 ford with a holly one-barrel updraft carb. This is an old Air Force tractor with only 1700 hrs on it. I've had it for about fifteen years & have nothing but fits from the carb. I don't farm, I just use it for pulling a little backhoe & lifting engines. I know they make a replacement carb, & I can get an original holly, but being cheap, I refuse to pay over $400.00 for a carb with two or three moving parts. I've had suggestions to weld another base on top of the manifold, & to make a horseshoe pipe, mounting a standard downdraft carb, anyone got any ideas? Also, it seems no one knows much about this tractor, there's not many parts listed for it. Is it an oddball, or just not very popular? Thanks for the input, Dale

This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life.
