I already posted a reply, but I will add to it, so that anyone that wants ideas to discourage trespassers can think about this....

I had some punk cutting across my corner field in his car (trying to imitate the "Dukes of Hazard" I suppose) he was rutting my field everytime he crossed it. I put out spiked pieces of metal (not sharp enough to go through a foot or shoe, but sharp enough to go through a tire). This only helped the tire shop with business. The clown was not smart enough to associate the two things. So one day after a slight rain I was looking at the corner of the road that went around the field and noticed that water was standing there. So I went and got my 14' grader-blade and ditched the corner to drain. I realized that the slight ditch might create a bump to the vehicle when the stupid punk crossed it... so I decided to put some "radically" steep sides on the ditch and deepen it a little more... (really drain the corner... hehe :-O ). I cleaned up all traces of the ditching work and tidied the field so that there were no traces of tractor tire prints. The next morning I saw more tracks crossing the field, so I walked the field and analyzed the situation.... the guy must have not noticed the ditch, because he hit it at about 40mph with his car. I am guessing that his teeth were imprinted in the steering wheel!!! I could tell that as the front of the car crossed over the ditch that the muffler clamp had dragged the dirt and then the frontend of the car must have bounced up 2 or 3 feet in the air as the tires contacted the opposite side of the ditch.

Needless to say, that was the very last time that the @%#^$@!# idiot crossed that field! Nothing like a good "country education!" And boy, did he get educated!

I did this because a car was involved, I don't believe I will do it if an ATV is involved... I don't want to kill anyone... I just want to get their attention!

Today's Featured Article - Hydraulic Basics - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In the last entry to this series we gave a brief overview of hydraulic system theory, its basic components and how it works. Now lets take a look at some general maintenance tips that will keep our system operating to its fullest potential. The two biggest enemies to a hydraulic system are dirt and water. Dirt can score the insides of cylinders, spool valves and pumps. Wate ... [Read Article]
