Using Boxblade

Has anyone used a boxblade connected to 3-point hitch to smoothen land after it has been plowed and disked? How effective is it? Would it be better to use a harrow or build some sort of a frame made out of I beams?
I'm learning, trying to grow something on 5 acres in El Paso, Tx. Any help is appreciated.
