the tank should be sealed, it's a part of the hydraulic system and with the engine running it's under (low) pressure.
remove the hood and look for the exact point where the oil is pouring. on top of the tank there is a banjo fitting with a plastic 5/16" hose connected to the shift lever cover. to the banjo screw should be attached a spring loaded ball valve. if this ball is missing, the pressure might pull the plastic hose off and pour out of the connection.
