I will be putting the pan on a IH DT466 engine in the morning and am going to use pematex gasket sealer. I like to let it sit out and thicken up and lightly brush both sides. I have had problems with silicone causing a gasket to squeeze out on me. If the pan is cast iron a light coat of grease will work just as well. 30+ years of wrenching you learn what types of sealers work the best on different gasket materiels and applications mainly by trial and error. Hope to have this puppy running tomorrow afternoon.
