Need help. I am at the good end of 2 year MF35 refrubishment project. In my wisdom and for all the right reasons I decided to convert from the old dynamo to an altenator. The altenator I have used is one from a VW golf. It has a 2 wire connection, 1 to the battery and one for the ignition light (idiot light). My problem is that I have to rev the engine to get the idiot light to go out and consequently start charging the battery. Is there any way I can get around this with the altenator that I have or do I need to go to an altenator with sens and exite terminals. Any help / comment would be much appreciated.
