Replacing it isn't that hard. Remove the 1/2" nuts and bolts around the outside of the housing, and it will come out as a unit. There should be a snap-ring holding the guide in the bearings. Remove it and tap out the guide. If it's leaking around the guide, and the guide is worn, you'd be well-advised to replace it as well. Parts availablity may be an issue. If you just need the seal, a parts store may be able to cross it for you. The gasket and new guide may need to be purchased from Deere. Deere has online parts service at Deere.com, or you might be able to order from the nearest dealer and have it direct-shipped. They would probably also provide you with copies of the proper service manual pages. Feel free to email me with any more "in-depth" questions. I can walk you through the whole procedure, as I'm a JD tech.
