I think what everyone is missing is that the military gives you a place to sleep, medical, dental, a cloting allowance, food, and other benefits. If you choose to have a car, an apartment or house off base, well then that is up to you. If you go in and take advantage of what they offer a person can live and do OK. And remember that there is no draft, nobody is making anyone be in the service anymore. People don't need to join if they think they are not going to be paid enough. Now don't get me wrong, I was in, know what is like to be away, give up two to four years of your life and all that. And all who are in have my respect and thanks. But they choose to join up.

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
