The story goes that the very first Renault tractor imported into the UK was a 651, 65 hp 2 wheel drive. I have had no experience with that particular model. I did have a 781 (78 hp two wheel drive ) and it was a wonderful machine! I traded in a rather unremarkable IH 674 tractor for it ( bought new,it was nothing but trouble and rather gutless )There was no comparison. The German Built MWM engine had oodles of torque, and even when pulling hard it showed little black smoke (one in the eye for the Ford fanatics LOL )It easily pulled 4 X 14" furrows, (although I did change over to a 3X16" reversible)and also I pulled a 22' spring tine cultivator fitted with 63 points. A very nice tool! The only thing I did not like about the Renault was a lack of an on the move splitter (ie multi-power or TA )Apparently the newer Renaults use John Deere engines.
