I probably shouldn't jump in here, because I can't afford a truck this new anyway, and I don't tend to buy Fords anyway, but here goes. 1. I believe the myth of Ford buying Cummins has been debunked here in the past. 2. Ford 6.0 diesels are VERY QUIET, compared to the 7.3's. 3. If you go to Cummin's website, you will find out that Cummins and Dodge have a contract for Cummins to supply engines for Dodge pickups for quite a number of years into the future! 4. I think a lot of the reason Ford went to the 6.0 was to meet upcoming emissions requirements. The have a high pressure common-rail fuel system similar to the Duramax, an apparently at some point, Cummins has gone that way too, in their 5.9, so more than likely the revision of the Powerstroke was more to meet govt. requirements, and they rushed it into production. It will probably be just fine after some growing pains are worked out in the "O" rings and such in the high pressure fuel system. 5. I have a 1994 Chevy 6.5 diesel, which admittedly I do not pull the guts out of. I bought it at 60,000 miles. The pump had just been replaced. I now have 210,000 miles on it with NO REPAIRS.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
