Three thinng you need: Compression, Spark and fuel. First do a compression check, if you have little or no compression it won't start. If you have good compression check all electrical wires and connections. Remove your mag and have it tested by a knowledgable mag technition (almost any auto electric rebuilder can do this) If you have compression and spark, rig up a gas can feed your carb from the can, thus eliminating the gas tank. If it starts and runs, connect to the tank. If it doesn't run, troroughly clean your tank and fuel lines. I would guess your problem is varnish gas in the tank and carburator.
