nope ya cant buy a single flail to do the job of both, just like rotory mowers there are brush flail mowers and finish flail mowers. the ones ya see along the side of the highway usualy are brush type heavy duty flails, they can chop up brush up to 3 inch dia often, but they do a terrible job on grass, often they just lay it down rather than cut it. on the other hand there are finish cut flails, my father bought one of these not knowing the difference, it cut real nice on grass, but soon destroyed itself on heavy briars and light brush. ya need one of each, no way around it
