I have seen it suggested that a box of screws dumped into a (removed) tank with some water added will do the trick. Trouble is, the tank is HEAVY! I tried this technique and it quickly wore me out. I then resorted to chemical etch followed by a chemical sealer. Seems to be working fine in my F12. No rust in the sediment bowl. I ordered both chemicals from "The Shop" from an ad in "Antique Power" magazine. I don't have a copy here to quote you the phone number, but will post it later if no one else comes up with it. Stuff did what it advertised, but would have worked better if I had followed through with removing the bigger chunks of rust (the screw and water) method. If I remember right, this site's archive articles have a section that deals with the same subject.
